Need some help… if ENENEWS or someone else with greater Japanese translation skills than I is reading this, there is a news item reported on a Japanese source – the original is from a German TV report. I *THINK* it is saying something like… 38,000 children in Fukushima have been tested for thyroid abnormalities, and three have had operations. According to the National Cancer Center, the norm is 0.6 people per 100,000 people. This time they tested 38,000 and found 3. That’s more than 10 times the norm.

TEPCO’s overconfidence and lack of humility blamed for Fukushima Daiichi disaster

http://enformable.com/2013/03/tepcos-overconfidence-and-lack-of-humility-blamed-for-fukushima-daiichi-disaster/

On Wednesday, officials from the Atomic Energy Society of Japan discussed the report at their annual meeting held at Kinki University in Osaka Prefecture.  The report released by the Atomic Energy Society accepted that the direct cause of the disaster was a loss of reactor cooling functions due to damage sustained by the tsunami and earthquake, but blamed overconfidence in nuclear plant safety, a lack of preparations, and a displayed lack of humility as the primary causes of the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear disaster.

“Sightseeing place possibly accumulates radiation from tourists’ shoes”

Posted by Mochizuki on March 30th, 2013
Shockingly, the atmospheric dose was 0.09 μSv/h in the hotel room of Kyoto. I wonder if it’s carried by the shoes of the tourists from all around Japan and the carpet accumulates it. It was about 0.05 ~ 0.06μSv/h outside.
