Day 560 Oops, dropped it.
According to the Yomiuri Newspaper, up at FD1 reactor #3, a steel beam, 470kg (30cmX20cmX7m), fell into the spent fuel pool. Don’t worry, the pool was being cooled at the time.

And some more happy news (not), this next piece. Lest we forget, however, that the crisis at Fukushima was NOT entirely due to the tsunami (as Chubu Electric Company would have us believe. They are saying that a new 18-metre “tsunami wall” would be enough to withstand a 23-metre tsunami.) It was due to pipes rupturing, parts creaking, walls cracking, cables breaking, and other “natural” happenings normally due to an extremely powerful earthquake AS WELL AS human error in the design of the whole damn thing.
But I digress. Here, we speak of the risk of tsunamis.
